GASP Motor Project at Weydon School

A group of lucky Year 9 students at Weydon School took part in the GASP Motor Project which took place on site for six weeks.  Working with qualified motor mechanic experts, Simon and Clive from the Motor Project, they learnt all about basic maintenance and gained a greater mechanical understanding.

The Motor Project’s aim is for young people aged between 14 and 19 years to learn about basic motor mechanics and practical engineering skills.

The students worked in a small group to enable familiarity with the workings of small engines, quad bikes, BMX bikes and go-carts, whilst developing communication and team-working skills.

Mrs Helen Sanders, Careers Co-ordinator said; “We would like to thank TFN, who organised this programme for Weydon, and The GASP Motor Project for the support they have given to the students over the  6 week period.  They provide an amazing service to young people in Surrey and Weydon School feel very fortunate to have been able to work with them.”

The GASP Motor Project is based in Guildford
