Home Learning Club

We will be starting our Home Learning Club in our LRC in the Globe building for our Year 7 students on Tuesday 8th September. The club will run from Monday to Thursday each week between 3:00pm and 4:00pm.

The purpose of the club is to provide students with an environment in which they can complete their home learning. They will be expected to work during this club, it is not a babysitting facility! There will be adults to support them with their work and access to computers where needed.

The staggered finish to the school day does generate some staffing difficulties for us, so initially we will limit this club to 30 students. Please sign up for a place in the club by following this link https://forms.gle/WkTpV3HA81QTkheb7. We often have a high demand for Home Learning Club initially from our Year 7 students, which drops off as the term progresses, therefore we ask that you indicate on the Google Form if you feel your child needs an immediate place, and if so, let us know the reason. We will then be able to allocate spaces in as fair a way as possible. We will let you know via email when there is a space for your child; please do not assume your child has a space until you hear from us. As this is a new way of operating the Home Learning Club for us, we will review the procedure given the demand.

At the end of each session, students will be escorted to the West Gate entrance on Weydon Lane. Students will need to stay until 4:00pm at each session they attend ( no early leaving ) so the students need to ensure they have sufficient work with them, or reading material, to keep them occupied throughout the session.

We are aiming to offer the Home Learning Club for Year 8 students in addition to Year 7, but as we are not able to mix students in different year groups, details with regards to this are still in the planning stage.
