In Year Admissions

In-Year Admissions

Thank you for your interest in transferring your child to Weydon School.
If your child needs to join us outside the normal admissions round, you can apply for an In-Year Admission. Weydon School is part of the Weydon Multi Academy Trust (WMAT), which manages all admissions, waiting lists, and place allocations.

When to apply for an In-Year Admission

You can apply for an In-Year Admission if:

  • You are moving house and your child cannot continue at their current school.
  • Your child has been home-educated, and you now wish for them to attend a mainstream school.
  • Your child currently attends another school, but you would like them to transfer to Weydon.

How to apply

  • Applications should be made directly through Surrey County Council’s In-Year Admissions process.
  • Parents can apply at any time during the school year.
  • Applications are processed in the order received and offers are made as soon as a place becomes available
  • We always act in the best interests of the child
  • Once a place is allocated and the family confirms the move, the child is expected to start as soon as possible to ensure continuity of education
  • Armed Forces families and Crown Servants relocating to the area can apply up to four months in advance.
Please do not withdraw your child from their current school until you have secured a confirmed place at Weydon or another school. If you require a paper application form, please contact Surrey Admissions directly.

Additional information

  • The person applying must have parental responsibility for the child.
  • If your circumstances are complex or uncertain, please include a brief covering letter explaining your situation.
You will also need to provide two proofs of residency and attach any relevant supporting documents, such as educational or medical evidence.

What happens next

  • We aim to process applications and notify you of the outcome within 15 school days.
  • If a place is offered, it must be accepted within two weeks, or the offer may be withdrawn.

If we cannot offer a place

  • Your child’s name will be placed on our waiting list, which is ranked according to the school’s Admissions Policy.
  • Waiting list positions can move up or down as new applications are received.
  • Waiting lists are cleared at the end of each academic year, so you will need to reapply if you still wish to be considered.
  • If your application is unsuccessful, you have the right to appeal. Details of how to appeal are available on our website.
All applications and offers are shared with Surrey County Council Admissions within two working days.
