Inspiring Enterprise Workshop
Weydon School’s Year 11 Inspiring Enterprise Workshop
5 Students from Year 11 took part in a Workshop with Inspiring Enterprise last week. Mr Nick Keogh from Inspiring Enterprise led the workshop which was aimed at introducing Students to the concept of Self Employment.
Students were given the opportunity to think of their own business idea; they came up with some great ideas, including childcare facilities, tree surgery, photography and a security business.
The session covered Business Planning, Legalities, SWOT analysis, Marketing, Social Media and Finance. After the presentation Students wrote their business plans, conducted a SWOT Analysis and completed a cash flow exercise.
Helen Sanders, Careers Coordinator at Weydon School said ‘The Students thoroughly enjoyed the Workshop and demonstrated initiative and enthusiasm; one student remarked ‘I now understand the importance of planning and being organised.’
Inspiring Enterprise helps people in Hampshire and South West Surrey develop the skills and confidence they need to build their own business or social enterprise. The project is funded by the National Lottery and the European Social Fund and partners with several organisations including; University of Winchester, Surrey Community Action and Enterprise M3.
