Celebrating GCSE results

Weydon School is celebrating another set of excellent GCSE results for a Year 11 cohort of whom we are incredibly proud.

85% of students have achieved a grade 4 or higher in English and Maths and 70% have achieved a grade 5 or higher in English and Maths. A remarkable 49% of grades were at grades 7-9 with a third awarded at grade 8 or 9. Nearly half the cohort achieved 5 grades at 7-9 with an impressive 42 students of those achieving 10 passes at grades 7-9. 17 of those students achieved 10 or more grades 8 and 9, which included Zoe LC, Zirva R, Alis P and Jodie P who achieved a grade 9 for every one of their subjects.

Also achieving exceptional results were Rita PD, Sophie C, Oliver T, Isla T and Sophie R who attained grades 8 and 9 for every subject and Larissa BT, Victoria E, Rosie B, Molly T, Orla D, William G, Ella Kn and Holly AW who achieved 10 grades at grades 8 and 9.

Ros Allen, Principal of Weydon School said:

“We are thrilled that our students have achieved such exceptional results collectively and individually. It is wonderful to see their hard work and talents recognised in this way, and above all to know that they have the grades they need to take their chosen next steps in local schools and Sixth Form colleges. This year group has not only excelled academically, but they are also a wonderful group of young people who have great compassion, empathy and intellectual curiosity, and who have contributed enormously to our community; we will miss them greatly! These results also reflect the tireless work of the teaching and associate staff at Weydon and I could not be more grateful for their relentless efforts and support for our students which has also led to such fantastic outcomes”.
